Tasting notes
Bright golden yellow with subtle green reflections. The nose is fresh and floral, revealing delicate nuances of exotic fruit that add an intriguing layer of complexity without becoming overpowering. On the palate, vibrant acidity provides freshness and lift, while the wine's elegant and aromatic character unfolds harmoniously. The finish is fresh, refined and distinctly varietal.
Food pairing
Particularly suited to fresh, aromatic and lightly spiced cuisine, such as Green Mango Chaat, Coconut Vegetable Curry, Keralan Prawn Curry and Aloo Gobi. Internationally, it pairs beautifully with Thai Papaya Salad, Vietnamese rice paper rolls, Moroccan vegetable tagine, citrus-marinated prawns and fresh summer salads.
Winemaking
The Grapes are sourced from selected vineyards across Eastern Switzerland, including Rutishauser-DiVino’s own vineyards in Stadel near Winterthur. Muscaris has been cultivated in Stadel since 2023 – with the first full harvest in 2025, where the variety has shown its potential to develop a distinctive and expressive aromatic profile. Eastern Switzerland is characterised by a remarkable diversity of vineyard sites and soils. Jurassic limestone, molasse and glacial deposits can be found across the region, creating different conditions for vine growth and ripening. This diversity of origins is reflected in the Freiraum philosophy: rather than focusing on one specific site, the wine brings together different expressions of the region in a single cuvée. The wine is fermented and matured in stainless steel tanks. This approach allows the distinctive aromatic character of Muscaris to remain at the forefront while preserving freshness, fruit expression and vibrant acidity. The use of stainless steel avoids additional oak influence and gives the wine a clean, precise and lively expression. The different origins of the grapes contribute complexity, while the vinification brings them together into a harmonious and expressive wine.
