The Alpine Whites — Sommelier Session at the Swiss Pavilion

An exclusive professional tasting dedicated to Switzerland’s white wines — exploring terroir, grape diversity, and alpine character.

Add to calendar:

Swiss white wines are some of Europe’s most distinctive yet least explored.

Made in small quantities, often from indigenous varieties and grown on steep, high-altitude vineyards, they combine precision with personality — offering a masterclass in balance, minerality, and finesse.

This sommelier-focused session takes you across Switzerland’s key white wine regions to understand how altitude, soil, and tradition shape expression in varieties like Chasselas, Heida, Johanniter, and Merlot Bianco.

Each wine represents a different microclimate and philosophy, from the structured alpine whites of Valais to the elegant lakeside styles of Vaud.

You’ll taste seven benchmark Swiss whites, each paired with a Swiss speciality snack designed to highlight textural nuance and acidity alignment — a true terroir-to-palate experience.

Crafted for India’s sommeliers, beverage directors, and wine educators, this session builds technical insight into a category not yet seen on Indian lists — and prepares the ground for the upcoming red wine session.
